The 2014-2020 IS is reliable but the interior tech aged poorly. Great driving dynamics.

my friend has an 08 is250 but he says it doesn't crank due to some strange unknown electrical issue, here's the story he told me: said he was rear ended while driving so he had it towed to his house(I think?)and the collision ruined the rear bumper but didn't really damage the body too much so he removed the rear bumper and then tried to pull it out of his garage in reverse(i think it's an automatic), when he got to the end of the driveway he said it just shut off and never ran again. He says he checked all fuses and something to do with the immobilizer and also put power straight to the starter and the starter works but the button to push to start the car doesn't.

Looking for a replacement for my 2012 cayenne s that’s getting a bit too high mileage for my comfort and want something that’ll hold value and be reliable for the next 5-10 years. The is350 seems like the best choice right now, but I know very little about lexus. My driving will mostly be 45 min commutes to grad school classes for the next few years, and I’m pretty tall but think I’d be fine in anything lexus has to offer. I’d love a heated steering wheel and good sound system w/ bluetooth, and I think 300 horsepower would plenty for me given the cayenne’s 400hp at 4500 lbs feels great to me. I’m also in CT if climate/roads should be considered. I really appreciate any insight!

The tires keep coming out of alignment which causes vehicle vibration, a pull to the left and premature wearing of the tires that then have to be replaced every 10-20K miles. Lexus is aware the IS series cars wear tires this way but state its bc this is a high performance vehicle. The vehicle vibration and driveline issues can get bad enough that it could pull a vehicle into a different lane potentially causing an accident. Had it into the Lexus dealership 6+ times for this and after replacement of tires (on 2nd visit) to the recommended tires for my vehicle, it still keeps happening. Then I take it in again and again, technician still can't find an issue and then they just rebalance and align the tires again. Then it's out of alignment again within a week to week and a half. Found out not long ago that the original owner also reported this EXACT same issue at 5K miles. Manufacturer has not inspected it to my knowledge but TONS of people in the clublexus.com forum mention this same issue continuously.

2020 Lexus IS — AIR BAGS
Airbags failed to deploy after the car went thru a brick wall at 35 miles per hour. Front impact crash. Car fax report reflects no prior accident. Vehicle was still under warranty & had the “auto nation 162 point check” June 2020 by Tampa Florida by Lexis of Tampa. NOT a single air bag deployed.

THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2020 IS350 THAT I HAVE HAD FOR LESS THAN A MONTH IS ALREADY SCUFFED. I WAS SIMPLY TRYING TO SWIPE A PIECE OF HAIR OFF OF THE DASH AND IT LEFT A SCUFF ON THE DASHBOARD THAT WILL NOT COME OUT. I AM DEVASTATED AS I SPENT $50,000 ON THIS CAR AND HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IMMACULATE CARE OF MY VEHICLES; HOWEVER, SIMPLY WIPING THE DASH HAS CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE SCUFFS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I DO SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER LEXUS OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. IS THERE AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THIS THAT CAN BE EXTENDED INTO THE 2020S? I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER LUXURY VEHICLES THAT I'VE EVER OWNED FOR 5+ YEARS.
